Luckily for Vanessa Minnillo, life doesn’t always imitate art.

Case in point? In Disaster Movie, hitting theaters Friday, Minnillo’s cheerleader character just can’t get her boyfriend to say “I love you.”

“He just can’t drop the L-word,” Minnillo, 27, tells PEOPLE of her character’s commitment-challenged boyfriend. “And what a girl wants more than anything in the world is for their boyfriend to say ‘I love you.’ ”

But, says Minnillo, her real-life beau Nick Lachey, 34, doesn’t have any similar hang-ups: “The L-word is not thrown around by men as easily as it is by women – but I didn’t say it first! He’s very loving. We’re very open and vocal.”

While Minnillo and Lachey may be in sync when it comes to their love for each other, their attempt to exercise together is not so harmonious.

“We used to work out together, but we stopped,” says Minnillo, laughing. “We’re doing different things. And the guy runs forever! Like, I swear, he’s running 11 miles a day. I can’t run. That’s the one thing I can’t do, because I feel like the further I jog away from my house, the further I have to jog back!”

GUY Ritchie has hit out at Madonna’s brother for writing a ‘tell-all’ book, which claims the director is homophobic.

The Snatch director insists he isn’t bothered by Christopher Ciccone’s book, Life With My Sister Madonna, which made a series of allegations about the Material Girl’s private life.

But Guy denies Mr. Ciccone’s claim he is homophobic – saying Madonna wouldn’t stand for it.

Guy said: “I don’t make anything of the book. The poor chap wrote it out of desperation.

“I don’t think it’d be intelligent to comment on that. I can’t give too much equity in what the chap’s going to write in that book.

“But you’d be hard pushed to be a homophobe and marry Madonna.”

How in the world do I begin to announce the CD releases for this week? Maybe it’s the back-to-school rush that has record companies pumping out babies like a celebrity-I’m not sure. Either way, I’ll begin with the most exciting release of today…which is, undeniably and indisputably, Missy Elliott’s “Block Party“.

In her single, “Best Best”, she shocks listeners with…singing! I think I might have known at some point in my life that Missy Elliott could sing, but I certainly had forgotten until hearing this song. It’s a catchy song, ornamented with her infamous (and yet sexy) lyrics. I’ve always liked Missy Elliott and…I still do.

On the opposite end of the music spectrum, Iowa’s Slipknot released their “All Hope Is Gone” today. The drums on their single, “All Hope Is Gone”, are actually ridiculous. I’m not even impressed with the incessant, machine-like drumming. It destroys the music. Then again, I’ve never expected much “music” from these nine mask-wearing Midwesterners. Not to imply that I’ve never liked any of the songs they have released, I have just simply never expected them to make anything I like.

The single isn’t bad, per se, but it’s still the same nine dudes dancing the same dance they have always danced–masquerade style.

Lastly, we got a chance to hear The Verve’s first new album in 10 years, “Forth,” which was sent to us for a preview listen on the uber-slick Motorola Rokr E8 phone, which has 2 gigs of memory built in for all your portable MP3-listening pleasure. (It honestly works great, and sounds surprisingly good, especially for a phone.)

A return to their meandering psychedelic sound, “Forth” delivers on everything you’d hope for from a decade of waiting. The atmospheric, soul-searching guitars combine with superior vocals and a drug-riddled vibe to give you one of the best late night, after-the-after-party albums released this year. Oh yeah, and the phone is freakin’ sweet too.

John Mayer isn’t getting much love these days – at least not from the paparazzi.

Thanks to the singer’s summer romance with Jennifer Aniston, he was a recent media darling. Mayer and Aniston got cozy in L.A., London and lots of cities in between.

But the lightbulbs are apparently no longer flashing for Mayer, to his dismay.

“He thinks he’s famous as Jen now,” one pap told MSNBC.com.

“Last week he went to a party, tipped off the paps, and even had decoy cars at the ready when he was leaving…no one bothered to follow him.
The singer’s stock has dropped considerably since he and Aniston broke up earlier this month.
“Pictures of him and Jen were selling for $20,000 at one point,” a source tells the website. “A picture of him alone gets $200 now.”

Never thought this would be possible, but I will go out on a limb here and say that watching her in the video may well turn out to be worse than listening to her sing the song. Wow. Good job Heidi, keep up the good work.

These pictures are from her latest video, Overdosin. I think I am going to be sick now.

Wow, a bag of bones rolling around on the floor with a human sized bunny, that sounds hot!

Last night we caught up with the Croydon clotheshorse leaving a party at George Michael’s North London pad. As she left her driver tried to shield her from the cameras with his jacket but she got annoyed with him, pushed his jacket out of the way and ran to the car. Nice try mate but we think she’s probably used to the cameras by now.
